Sometimes in these professions it is easy to lose track of time and before you know it, its been years since you have seen some of the people closest to you. Now you may say if they are close to you, you would see them all the time, but this isnt the case at all. To me, the people that are closest are the people that no matter the length of time since you spoke are saw each other are the people that it always feels like you were with the day before. I have moved around the country a bit over the past 8 years and have learned a lot through relationships made and relationships dissolved. One of the most important things I have learned is that I am lucky to have an amazing group of friends that, despite the time or distance, I can count on to have a good time with and have my back in any situation.
It was far overdue for me to connect with some of my closest friends, so I took some time off to sit around the campfire, play some darts and drink some good American beer. Seeing these guys (and their families) has given me a new energy and reminded me of why I am who I am. I will forever be grateful for the friends I have made and continue to make through out my journey.
