From bad Michael Jackson impersonations and jugglers with a serious case of the drops to boracho clowns and choreography that was more than a little off, the Mexican circus (held in a used car lot) was pretty much what you would imagine it to be..
Cameras were not allowed in, probably because of the legality of some of their performances, so I had to shoot what I could with my phone on the down low..
With the performers running double duty as concession workers in the stands, it definitely felt like they were everywhere..
The animal trainer was pretty impressive, making a small elephant do a handstand before getting into a really unsturdy cage with 8 tigers that all looked like they all wanted to rip his head off.
All in all it was a really good time. While it wasn’t the best circus in the world, it was interesting to see a small group of people work together to put on these performances, live together and work as a team to make sure all the jobs are done and the show goes on.
